Does the USB port on theLinksys Wireless-N Gigabit Router play nicely with USB Hubs? or Printers?
The Wireless-N Gigabit Router has a USB plug on it ... just wondering if a hub would work for multiple drives and/or a drive and a printer ....
Im guessing your talking about the WRT350N. The usb connection will only work for network storage or a flash frive. I believe only one item will work at a time so connecting a hub will not work.
Netgear N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router WNDR3700
This router, and also the whole as a full, was highly counseled by many sources. i am a technologist by trade, therefore I admit recommendations from friends and colleagues. I conjointly scour the net for freelance ratings and reviews. This Netgear was at the highest of the list.
Things I love:
- Ability to broadcast multiple SSIDs for various network protocols and guest networks. I even have frequent guests who use my network and it's nice to currently provide them net access solely and not access to the remainder of my personal network.
- Antenna power throttling. this is often great! i do not need to possess my entire neighborhood see my wireless access purpose, therefore I will give less power and keep the signal shut. On the opposite hand, i would be fighting for coverage within the densely populated space, therefore it's sensible to spice up power. i prefer the control!
- Automatic channel choice. On the previous router, as individuals would move in and out, the network channels would become cluttered and empty out in several ranges. i might need to manually alter this on the previous router after I was obtaining lots of interference and noise. This Netgear will it automatically and seamlessly. Nice touch!
- USB to plug in an external arduous drive. this is often an awesome feature and that i not need to move my external backup drive around with the laptop as I move from space to space. Plug it into the router and voila; I even have NAS! If I map the drive, however, I've found that it will not perpetually connect immediately if I restart my pc. Minor annoyance and presumably owing to my very own configuration. i am going to fix this later.
Things I like:
- The user interface within the admin pages is good. Not the prettiest I've ever seen, however splendidly usable. it is simple to work out the admin pages while not such a lot as a look at the assistance guide.
- No external antenna. decision me quaint, however i am sometimes dubious regarding devices like this not having external antennas. Netgear has done it right, though, and that i have fully no signal problems (even in my dense condo) and there is currently nothing for the cats to chew on, or me to bump out of place. i am a convert to antenna-less devices!
- The issue is simply pretty. it is a slick trying box and appears sensible sitting on the desk. I sometimes do not care regarding it, however it's truly value mentioning here.
