I have an old TV that only has a single coax jack & want to hook up VCR, etc. What kind of adapter do I need?
I know there's an adapter available (I've seen them at K-Mart, Radio Shack, etc.) where one end connects to a single cable input jack on older TV's and the other ends have regular Audio/Video inputs like most current TV's & VCR's. I just can't remember what these type of adapters are called. Please help!
They're called RF adaptors or RF modulators, If you have more than one device you're hooking up, you could go with a video selector, it will have multiple plug-ins and some of the models (more expensive ones) will also have an RF modulator built into it. Tips for Using a USB VGA Adapter to Connect Two Monitors
Connecting two monitors to a single PC has now become possible with the use of a USB VGA adapter. This is since this type of adapter features two cable that emerge from a single socket. Another term for it is a VGA Y splitter cable. This is all because the shape of all three connections forms a "Y".
You won't have a hard time fitting these connections. Though this is not a hard process, there is still a possibility of things going wrong, especially if you don't know how to troubleshoot devices.
How to Fit a Single Cable
You can easily fit a single cable to a PC or laptop. A screw nut connection is placed on the side to fasten it securely to port once hooked up. It is also important to ensure that all cables connected to the computer are the right ones.
For the base of the "Y" shape, or the single cable, this should be fitted to the back of the PC. Since this cable can be too short to fit to the back of your CPU while connected to the monitors, using a USB port extension is very convenient. It provides a wider range for placing the port. As for the extender cables, these can be fitted to the USB VGA adapter before you turn the screw bolt to secure it.
How to Fit Double Cables
As we all know, cables that connect to monitors can be quite short. This is why it's important to have extension cables. This way, monitors can stay far apart. Since monitor connections can be fastened using screws, you'll find it easy to position the screens wherever you want to put it. You will just attach the cable to the monitor with the cables tightly connected at the back.
It is important to separately test your equipment before you start connecting them. This way, you'll know if the cable is the one who is at fault when something goes wrong. Problems may include:

To fix these, you need to check if the connection is placed correctly. Remove it from the port and try plugging it again. If nothing changes, try the procedure on a different monitor.
